Erica Pancoast-Carnine: Owner
Doggie Stylez is a full service cage free grooming, boarding, daycare, training, and in-home services facility.
Doggie Stylez was established in 2009 by Erica Pancoast-Carnine. A high school deaf and hard of hearing teacher and a mom to 4 pooches who needed regular grooming, Erica opened Doggie Stylez as a hobby in her garage. While grooming her own dogs, Erica noticed that they enjoyed their grooming experience much more when they were allowed to embrace their natural instincts to be social, to explore, and to use their sniffers rather than being in a cage. The idea of a kennel free facility was born!
With the dogs' comfort being top priority, Erica decided that all dogs would be hand dried allowing for more personal interaction and less time away from their owners. Erica wanted her clients to have a happy playful experience at the groomer and apparently many other dog owners wanted the same experience for their four-legged family members. In less than a year after opening, Doggie Stylez had outgrown the garage and moved into a storefront. As the business grew, so did the requests for more services.
In January 2014, Doggie Stylez began construction on a state of the art grooming, boarding, and daycare facility. The new facility opened on June 2, 2014.
Doggie Stylez quickly filled up for all of their services and began waiting lists for daycare and boarding.
“The kennel-free philosophy was very popular and Doggie Stylez filled a need in our community. This concept of kennel-free daycare and boarding was completely new to this area. The most common thing we hear from owners is ‘This is great! My dog fell asleep on the way home from daycare…and slept the rest of the night.’”
In May 2016, just 2 years after building the new facility, Doggie Stylez began construction on a 5,000 sq ft building addition. The building addition includes 46 additional rooms, 2 large indoor play areas, additional daycare space, and room for both group and private training lessons.
The Doggie Stylez play park was also expanded to a 13,500 sq ft paradise equipped with bone and paw print shaped pools, agility equipment, and all the toys a pooch could want. And the best part...all 13,500 sq ft is covered with synthetic turf made specifically for dogs!
In August 2016, Erica embraced her passion for animals and gave up her teaching job to became a full time packmate and leader at Doggie Stylez.
Doggie Stylez soon began the transition of becoming an “Enrichment Facility”. They are working with their resident trainer and manager, Mandy Sitton, as well as nationally recognized trainers and animal behaviorists to create an enriching environment for their four legged clients.”
“When parents bring their dogs for daycare and boarding, we incorporate games, activities, toys, training and various physical structures that encourage the dogs to embrace their natural instincts. We are working to create the most optimal physical environment for our dogs to learn, explore and thrive in. We practice basic obedience skills with our pack throughout the day both in individual and group settings. When dogs know what is expected of them, they become a more balanced dog which in turn reduces unwanted behaviors. The transition to becoming an enrichment facility is something that takes time and training but already the response from our clients, both two legged and four legged, has been overwhelmingly positive."
Erica was a recipient of the “Young Professional Leadership Award” by the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates excellence and initiative in their business or profession and is under the age of forty.
In addition to providing 5 Star service to their clients, Doggie Stylez has a passion for community service. Their goal is to educate, enrich, and enhance the lives of pets and their owners in their community and surrounding areas. Doggie Stylez works closely with local schools, businesses, and various rescue organizations, such as Wright-Way Rescue, to make a positive impact on the lives of pets and people.
The Doggie Stylez team of trained dog lovers are committed to providing your pooch with a loving, educational and safe experience with an "at home" feel.

Austin Marks - Groomer
Austin joined the Doggie Stylez pack back in August of 2021 as a kennel attendant. In his spare time, you can find Austin reading, video gaming, or spending time with his fur children: a Labrador Retriever named Rosco, and 2 cats, Finn and Thor.
